June Newsletter: Pilates Principle Precision
With summer comes a change of pace. Longer days, vacations, and more flexibility in our schedules can create space to slow down, reconnect, and move with greater awareness.
That’s why this month’s Pilates principle, Precision, feels especially timely.
Over the past few months, we’ve explored Concentration, Breathing, Centering, and Control. Precision is where those principles begin to come together.
Precision in Pilates isn’t about perfection—it’s about intention. A small adjustment in foot placement, a deeper connection to your core, or better alignment through the shoulders and pelvis can completely change how a movement feels. These subtle details often make movement more effective, supportive, and sustainable for your body.
Summer can also be a great time to explore something new in your practice. A different class format, instructor, pace, or even a private session can offer fresh insight and individualized support. Sometimes precision means recognizing that what served your body in one season may not be what it needs today.
When we move with precision, we build strength more efficiently, improve alignment, and reduce unnecessary strain. More importantly, precision brings us into the present moment, helping us move with greater clarity and purpose.
As you practice this month, get curious:
Where can you refine your alignment?
Can you move with a little more intention, even if it means slowing down?
What changes when you focus on how you're moving, not just completing the movement?
Sometimes the smallest adjustments create the biggest results.
Here's to moving with clarity, intention, and purpose this summer.
